EXPERIENCES

FOUR SEASONS. ONE WILDERNESS.

WINTER — THE WORLD IN WHITE

When snow blankets the forests and the lakes freeze to silence, Junsele becomes one of Sweden’s quietest winter destinations. With more than 80 kilometres of prepared ski tracks and reliable annual snow, winter at SEASONS is a full programme.

  • Downhill skiing with ski-in access directly from the hotel
  • Cross-country skiing — 80 km of prepared tracks through boreal forest
  • Husky sled tours — introductory and advanced routes for all ages
  • Snowmobile expeditions into the wilderness under a starlit sky
  • Ice fishing on the frozen lakes of Ångermanland
  • Rooftop spa with outdoor infinity pool and 360-degree wilderness views
  • Dinner at the Galaxen restaurant on Betarsjön, reached by snowmobile
  • Northern lights — guided expeditions when conditions allow

SUMMER — THE MIDNIGHT SUN AND INFINITE HORIZONS

As the snow melts and the forest awakens, Junsele opens up for exploration. Long, luminous days stretch into the early hours, and the landscape invites movement in every direction.

  • Guided moose observation — Sweden’s most iconic animal at close range as they move to summer pastures
  • Fly fishing and trolling on private lakes, with guides for all levels
  • Canoe and kayak safaris through pristine waterways
  • Water sports on Betarsjön — waterskiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing
  • Mountain biking — forest trails and downhill on the ski slopes
  • Wheel-based dog sled tours
  • Dinner at the Galaxen restaurant on Betarsjön, returning by raft under the midnight sun
  • Hiking and guided walks for all levels

WILDLIFE PARK ENCOUNTERS

At the heart of the experience is Junsele Wildlife Park — a long-established home to Scandinavian species and a carefully managed collection of wildlife from around the world, set among 19th-century wooden buildings. The park works closely with the hotel to offer guided encounters and seasonal experiences for our guests.

Observation feeding — White Bengal Tigers

Watch the park’s White Bengal Tigers at feeding time from a guided viewing point, with a keeper on hand to explain their care.

Guided lemur encounter

Observe the park’s lemurs with a keeper, who explains their behaviour and background.

Guided moose encounter

Approach the park’s moose at a respectful distance with a ranger, who shares the story of Sweden’s most iconic animal.

Husky sled tour

Introductory and advanced courses for all ages.

PRECISION SHOOTING WITH JOCKE SMÅLÄNNING

Junsele is home to Jocke Smålänning, one of Europe’s best-known trick and precision shooters. His facility — a short drive from the hotel — hosts training camps, competitions, and demonstrations for visiting groups and professional shooters. Introductory sessions for hotel guests are available on request.
